Town Hall Sessions

The Hybrid OR will feature Town Hall sessions during the Exhibit hours where you can learn tips and tricks for a successful transition and ask your questions to gain a better understanding of the process and troubleshoot potential problems along the way.

Whether you are just beginning conversations on integrating a hybrid OR into your hospital or are in the thick of the build out, OR Manager is here to help! In 2016 the OR Manager Conference will be adding two additional Town Halls to the program – That’s 3 Town Hall sessions for attendees to come interact with the Steering Committee and get their questions answered!

Learn from the Experts to Master Your First Build
Thursday 9:20 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.
Master the ins and outs of the hybrid operating room from those who are forging the path. Members of the Hybrid OR Steering Committee will give a general overview of the hybrid OR and what it takes to build and operate your own. Bring your questions and learn from their experiences as they share what they would have done differently, along with the changes they have made since opening their first hybrid OR. By attending this session, you will not only receive CE credit, but you will leave with suggestions for making your hybrid OR profitable, safe, productive, and better organized.

Effective Collaboration – How to Avoid Having Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen
Thursday 12:50 p.m. – 1:20 p.m.
Teamwork is a key ingredient in the recipe for implementing an efficient hybrid OR. With so many cooks in the kitchen, interdepartmental users of your hybrid OR must work together to overcome hurdles, and more importantly, take ownership during the planning process. Having created successful partnerships within their own hybrid operating rooms, the speakers will identify critical questions that need to be addressed in order to build a synergetic culture, as well as review tips and tools for building a hybrid OR that can be utilized for a number of procedures and by a variety of physicians. Earn additional contact hours while gaining solutions for creating harmony in your hybrid OR.

Best Design Practices for Increasing Efficiency
Thursday 3:50 p.m. – 4:20 p.m.
One of the most challenging aspects of building or remodeling a hybrid OR is the planning process. This step begins far before breaking ground, and therefore, it is essential that the equipment and spatial needs of all those who will be using the room are taken into consideration to avoid costly changes throughout the process. The speakers will review their own planning process as well as the successes and failures they experienced along the way. “How big of a space will you need?” and “How should the equipment be positioned?” are common questions that will be answered during this interactive session. Learn the steps to take during the design phase to ensure effective integration of your hybrid OR.
